How We can help

Design your system

We've completed thousands of installations across Alberta and BC. From permits and interconnection agreements to financing paperwork, we make sure everything is done right the first time.

Supply your Solar Equipment

We work directly with the solar brands you want. Every system we install uses Tier 1 equipment built to perform through Alberta winters and hail.

Full Service Installation

We're a full-service electrical company — master electricians, engineers, and project managers on every job, not subcontractors.

Alpha solar installed a 6.5KW expansion system to our 9KW system and they did an excellent job. They completed the work in 1 day and as promised. The system is up and running! It was super easy to deal with Pat and Nick. They took care of all their permits, engineering, interconnection agreement and inspection.

How Solar Energy Works

Solar energy is produced by harnessing the power of sunlight through the use of solar panels. The process of generating solar energy begins with the collection of sunlight, which is absorbed by the solar panels. These panels are made up of photovoltaic (PV) cells, which are usually made of silicon or other semiconducting materials.

When sunlight hits the PV cells, it causes electrons to move within the cell, generating an electric current. This electric current is direct current (DC) electricity, which is then sent to an inverter to be converted into alternating current (AC) electricity. AC electricity is the type of electricity that is used in homes and businesses to power appliances and electronics.

Once the electricity has been converted to AC, it can be used immediately or stored in a battery for later use. In some cases, excess solar energy can be sold back to the grid, allowing homeowners or businesses to earn credits on their electricity bills.

The amount of solar energy that can be generated depends on a number of factors, including the amount of sunlight that the solar panels receive, the efficiency of the panels, and the size of the system. Overall, solar energy is a clean and sustainable source of electricity that has the potential to provide significant benefits to both individual consumers and the planet as a whole.

What's Still Available in Alberta

Alberta doesn't currently offer a province-wide homeowner rebate, and the federal Greener Homes grant and loan programs have closed to new applicants. But that doesn't mean the door is shut:

  • Several municipalities near Edmonton run their own solar incentive programs

  • CEIP (Clean Energy Improvement Program) financing can lower your upfront cost — we're a qualified CEIP contractor

  • Businesses, farms, and non-profits can still claim a 30% federal tax credit on solar and battery storage through 2034

Incentive rules change often and vary by municipality. During your free assessment, we'll tell you exactly what you qualify for — no guesswork, no upselling.

What Happens After You Reach Out

  1. We call within 24 hours — a real person, not a call center

  2. Free on-site assessment — we look at your roof, panel, and usage

  3. Custom quote, no pressure — clear numbers, real payback timeline
